In our local RS plans, we prioritize peoples and communities such as traditional fishermen, caiçaras, quilombolas, indigenous, riverside and terreiro communities. The identification of communities and traditional peoples covered in this section considers legally established concepts. This scope was anchored in the identification set out in Decree 6040/2007, which establishes the National Policy for the Sustainable Development of Traditional Peoples and Communities.
The relationship with indigenous peoples and traditional communities takes place through mandatory actions, arising from environmental licensing conditions (such as the Environmental Education Project, Traditional Territories Characterization Project, and compensation projects for fishing activities), and through voluntary actions, such as corporate social responsibility projects and socio-environmental investments.
