Supplier Engagement and Development

ESG for Suppliers
With the objective of strengthening relationships across the value chain and promoting continuous improvement in sustainable procurement practices and supplier management, Petrobras maintains an ESG Capacity-Bulding Journey. In 2023, the initiative was expanded to engage potential suppliers, business partners, and their subcontractors through online training (e-learning) on topics such as Human Rights, Compliance, HSE, and Climate Change, among others.

ESG Questionnaire
Implemented since 2023, this questionnaire, based on a voluntary online self-assessment, is completed by suppliers from different sectors and of various sizes. It enables us to monitor the level of engagement and development of our suppliers in matters of particular relevance to ESG topics, functioning as a “thermometer” that supports more effective management of our initiatives with the supplier market.

CDP Supply Chain

Each year, selected suppliers are invited by Petrobras to respond to the CDP Supply Chain questionnaire, a global and independent environmental disclosure platform widely used by purchasing organizations to engage suppliers and assess the environmental performance of their value chains. The initiative encourages the measurement and disclosure of management practices, targets, and actions related to climate change, water security, and forests.

Although participation is voluntary, we highly value every response received, as it strengthens the management of opportunities and risks associated with these three topics for both Petrobras and its suppliers. The questionnaire enables us to identify priority areas for action, such as greenhouse gas emissions and operational efficiency, and to improve the quality of information related to the goods and services we procure.

To engage suppliers in the 2025 CDP Supply Chain cycle and encourage higher-quality disclosures, Petrobras implemented a strategy based on educational communications, ongoing support, and technical capacity-building. The objective was to enhance the climate maturity of our value chain, promote transparency, and support the management of environmental risks and impacts.

One of the key highlights of the latest cycle was the high level of engagement achieved by Petrobras suppliers in the CDP Supply Chain program, surpassing the average response rate within the Oil and Gas sector. This result demonstrates the Company's progress on strategic sustainability issues in an industry historically challenged by greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related risks. It also reflects the continuous improvement of our internal processes and an integrated approach to supplier engagement, governance enhancement, and the promotion of more robust environmental practices.

Fortalecer Program

In 2025, we launched the Fortalecer Program, aligned with the company’s commitment to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive supply chain. The Program aims to promote the inclusion of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) belonging to underrepresented groups. The Program was carried out in partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE) and covered municipalities in the Vale do Paraíba region — such as São José dos Campos, Jacareí, Caçapava, and Taubaté — located around the Henrique Lage Refinery (REVAP). This first cycle focused on the development of MSEs led by or owned by women, black and mixed-race individuals, persons with disabilities, and older adults, in alignment with corporate inclusion and diversity guidelines. The initiative also seeks to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of these businesses, contribute to regional socioeconomic development, ensure the supply of goods and services required for operations, and reinforce the company’s social license to operate.

During its first cycle, 30 companies participated in training sessions and business consulting covering topics such as strategic planning, marketing, finance, leadership, and the use of artificial intelligence. Following this phase, participants completed their registration in the Petronect Portal and underwent technical, legal, and financial assessments, culminating in the issuance of the Supplier Registration Certificate (CRC). The  Fortalecer Program reinforces Petrobras' commitment to diversity, sustainability, and social responsibility while establishing best practices and lessons learned to support its future expansion in a consistent and scalable manner.
